Volunteers are the backbones and engines of all events organized by Share & Grow Association. Share & Grow proudly presents the President’s Volunteer Service Award to 10 qualified volunteers for their volunteer service in the 2019-2020 year. Huge congratulations!

Presented with the President’s Volunteer Gold Medal Service Awards are Elianna Huang of Norman (14 years old), Qilin Huang of Norman (15 years old), Meena Seshadri of Norman (15 years old), and Nancy Wang of Choctaw (15 years old). In addition, Sara Huang of Moore (14 years old) and Wenny Xu of Edmond (15 years old) are each presented with the President’s Volunteer Silver Medal Service Award. Finally, receiving the President’s Volunteer Bronze Medal Service Award are Herui Ray Li of Atlanta (12 years old), Audrey Zhou of Norman (15 years old), Grace Qi of Norman (16 years old), and Felix Yang of Norman (16 years old). Each awardee receives a personalized certificate, a medallion, and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.

As recipients of this prestigious award, these young volunteers each accumulated many hours, for some of them more than hundreds of hours, as volunteers in Share & Grow events and activities. All of the awardees volunteered as tutors teaching a variety of classes in the Share & Grow’s 2020 Summer Tutoring Program. Many of them also participate as volunteers in other activities in the community. Their involvement and devotion to our community have inspired all of us to follow their footsteps, especially the younger generation.

Last but certainly not least, Share & Grow Association would like to thank all volunteers to Share& Grow’s past events. The value, creativity, and the impact brought by the volunteers bind our community together.

Background information:

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is a civil award bestowed by the president of the United States. Established by executive order of George W. Bush, the award honors volunteers that give hundreds of hours per year helping people in need. Depending on the amount of service hours completed, recipients can earn the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and/or the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

来自亚特兰大的Herui Ray Li（李何瑞）同学（12岁），Audrey Zhou（周欣佳）同学（15岁）， Grace Qi（漆乐）同学（16岁）和Felix Yang（杨飞洋）同学（16岁）荣获总统志愿服务奖铜奖。

每位获奖者都收到了美国总统颁发的个人证书，奖牌和祝贺信。

作为这一极高荣誉的获得者，这些年轻的志愿者们，每个人都在上一年Share＆Grow组织的活动中积累了很多小时的志愿服务时间，他们中的一些甚至志愿服务了超过上百个小时。这次得奖的所有人都参与了Share＆Grow的2020年Summer Tutoring Program作为辅导老师在这项活动中教授各种课程。他们中的许多人还作为志愿者参加了社区的其他活动。他们的参与和对我们社区的奉献精神是我们所有人的，尤其是年轻一代的榜样。

总统志愿服务奖是美国总统授予的一项民事奖。该奖项是由George W. Bush的行政命令设立的，旨在表彰每年提供数百小时帮助有需要的人的志愿者。根据完成的志愿服务小时数，获奖者可以获得铜奖，银奖，金奖或终身成就奖。
