2021 the 1st SGA-OKCLTA Chinese Writing Contest

值此一元复始、万象更新之际,分享与成长协会以及俄州中文教师协会携手隆重举办首届中小学生中文写作竞赛。本次大赛旨在:(一)提高孩子们学习中文的兴趣,提升他们用中文写作的积极性,增强他们对中文的热爱;(二)塑造孩子们勇于参与、积极进取的人生态度;(三)促进多元文化交流,弘扬中国文化。
比赛按照学习程度、母语背景等情况分组进行公平竞争。欢迎来自美国各地的孩子报名参加。比赛获胜的优秀选手将获得精美的奖品,他们的作品也将会被集结成册在电子杂志《2021年S&GA-OKCLTA中小学生中文优秀作品精选》发行。
一、参赛对象:
k-12(kindergarten to twelfth)的汉语学习者。
二、参赛资格:
当参赛者的父母任何一方的母语为中文时,参赛者将被分入华裔土生组。主办方有权调整参赛者报名的组别。
三、参赛组别:
所有参赛选手分为六个组别。
1. 华裔土生组的参赛选手
1) 学习中文0-3年组
2) 学习中文4-6年组
3) 学习中文7年以上组
2. 母语非汉语组的参赛选手
1) 学习中文0-3年组
2) 学习中文4-6年组
3) 学习中文7年以上组
这里的“学习”是指主要靠教师(父母)在课堂或家庭进行有组织有计划的教学行为。而非语言习得,即主要靠孩子自然模仿实践,潜意识的情形下自然地获得语言知识和言语技能。
四、竞赛细则:
1. 大赛题材不限,体裁不限,题目自拟。立足生活、鼓励创新,欢迎写人、记事、写景、记叙文、议论文、散文随笔、想象作文等各类文章。
2. 文中请不要出现自己的真实姓名、校名等相关信息。
3. 可以提交机打作品,或者手写作品;繁简体皆可。1500字以内(不含标点符号)。
4. 作品要求所有参赛作品为原创未发表过的作品,参赛作文不得一稿多投,参赛学生需保证全部报名信息真实,如发现参赛选手违反上述要求,将取消其参赛资格;如在评奖后发现,将取消获奖证书,追回奖励。
5. 评审标准:裁判们将按照以下六个方面进行评分,(1)语言表达(15%),(2)写作技巧(15%),(3)体裁结构(15%),(4)功能作用 (15%),(5)语篇逻辑(20%),(6)可理解性(20%),具体内容详见附件(一)。
五、竞赛投稿时间:
2021年1月16日--2021年3月13日
六、竞赛投稿方式:
参赛学生需在线完成报名并提交作品。作品名称格式为:报名日期-作品名称。请上传pdf版或者word版作品至www.sharegrow.org。
七、获奖名额与奖励:
一等奖:每个组别一名,奖励为证书及20美金礼品卡;
二等奖:每个组别两名,奖励为证书及10美金礼品卡;
三等奖:每个组别三名,奖励为证书及5美金礼品卡;
优胜奖:若干,奖励为证书。
获奖结果将于2021年4月3日以后以邮件形式颁布。
八、获奖作品推送及发表:
1. 获奖作品将在电子杂志《2021年S&GA中小学生中文优秀作品精选》发行。
2. 获奖作品将被提交给全美中文教师学会,发表在电子杂志《美国中小学生中文优秀作品精选》。其指导教师姓名将在美中文教师学会新闻通讯发表,以资鼓励。

Event Instructions
Entering 2021, the Share & Grow Association (S&GA) and the Oklahoma Chinese Language Teachers Association (OKLCTA) are honored to host our very first Chinese writing competition for k-12 students.
The goal of the competition is twofold. First, it aims to motivate children not only to have a passion for studying Chinese but also to be more positive and courageous towards life. Second, it hopes to build a strong and vibrant multicultural community.
Children (K-12) from all over the United States are welcome to sign up.
To ensure the fair competition, all the contestants will be divided into the groups based on their levels of Chinese learning and ethnic backgrounds. Outstanding contestants who win the competition will receive exquisite prizes, and their works will also be published in “The Writing Collection: S&GA-OKCLTA k-12 Outstanding Chinese Works 2021”.
I. Contestants:
K-12 (kindergarten to the 12th grade) students
II. Eligibility:
When the native language of either parent of the contestant is Chinese, the contestant will be classified into the Chinese native group. The organizer reserves the right to adjust the categories of participants.
III. The contestants’ groups:
All contestants are divided into six groups.
1. Chinese descents who have studied* Chinese systematically for
1) 0-3 years
2) 4-6 years
3) 7+ years
2. Non-Chinese descents who have studied* Chinese systematically for
1) 0-3 years
2) 4-6 years
3) 7+ years
* Study means that contestants have studied Chinese as a Language formally (i.e., in an immersive Chinese learning situation or in an after-school program specialized in teaching Chinese).
IV. Competition Rules:
1. All the genres and types of writing are encouraged.
2. Please do not include your real name, school name and other relevant information in the text.
3. Electronic works or handwritten works in either traditional or simplified Chinese are both acceptable; the essay should be within 1500 words (excluding punctuations).
4. All the essays are required to be original and unpublished works. Only one manuscript per contestant is allowed. Students must ensure that all the registration information is true. If a contestant is found to have violated the above requirements, his or her qualification will be cancelled; if such a violation were found after the Award ceremony, the award will be rescinded.
5. Evaluation criteria: Judges will score according to the following six aspects, (1) language (15%), (2) technical skills (15%), (3) structure (15%), (4) function (15%), (5) Discourse levels (20%), and (6) Comprehensibility (20%). See Appendix 1 for details.
V. Submission time:
January 16, 2021-March 13, 2021
VI. Submission method:
The format of the name of the essay is: registration date-essay title. Please upload the pdf. version or word version of the work to www.sharegrow.org .
VII. Awards:
First prize: one winner per each group, who will be conferred with an award certificate and a $20 gift card.
Second prizes: two winners per each group, who will be conferred with award certificates along with a $10 gift card per winner.
Third Prizes: three winners per each group, who will be conferred with award certificates along with a $5 gift card per winner.
Excellence prizes will be conferred to the chosen contestants, who will receive award certificates.
The winning results will be announced through email after April 3, 2021.
VIII. Promotion and publication of the award-winning works:
1. The winning works will be published in “The Writing Collection: S&GA-OKCLTA k-12 Outstanding Chinese Works 2021”.
2. The winning works will be advised to be submitted to the Chinese Language Teachers’ Association (CLTA) and published in the electronic magazine Selection of CLTA American K-12 Outstanding Chinese Works (Check Appendix 2 for an example). The name of the instructor will be published in the newsletter of the CLTA as an honor and the encouragement.
